This feature will walk you through the first encounter in Destiny's King's Fall Raid commonly referenced as the Relic section, but otherwise known as the Court of Oryx. This one's fairly straightforward as long as everyone does their job, so right off the bat let's establish some two-man teams and make this fight really easy.
Team 1 will consist of Guardians One and Two. Team 1 is going to hang right in the center near the Court of Oryx, and they have two major jobs. First, they must wipe the big center door and kill the ads that spawn behind it. After that, they shoot the inner doors that appear when the Relics are grabbed.
Team 2 is going to consist of Guardians Three and Four. Team 2 takes the left side, and should leave the chamber completely after the first round. Three is your add controller and door opener, and Four is the runner.
Team 3 is going to consist of Guardians Five and Six. This team takes the right side and should leave the center chamber after the first round as well. Five is the add killer and door opener, and Six is the other runner.
So to give you some context, during this fight Guardians Four and Six must grab a randomly spawning Relic and deliver it to one of the statues in the area at the same time. As soon as the Relic is grabbed, Taken start spawning in, and five doors appear – two on either side and one in the center, blocking the Relic runners' path to the center to deliver them. So for Guardians Three and Five, that means playing fullback for the runners.
Hello, you are here because you are handling position 1 or 2 during the first part of the King's Fall Raid. Using this system, you as Guardian 1/2 have two tasks. The first is to hang in the center room near the big transparent door leading to the Court of Oryx and kill adds once the relics are grabbed. The other is to help open the doors that spawn in once the relics are grabbed, Guardian 1, you take the left, Guardian 2, you are on the right. There really aren't any specific weapons or loadouts I would suggest for this, but a sniper helps. It will allow you to shoot open the "Taken" doors that spawn to block the relic runner's path from afar, as well as take down the enemies in the center quickly. This is extremely important, as relic runners need the delivery area clear when they arrive, because while they have that glowing sphere, they cannot use any weapons.
If you are reading this that means you were assigned to team two. Guardian 3, you think of yourself as a bodyguard for Guardian 4. You will be escorting him or her, and opening doors for them as well. Guardian 4, you have one job. Locate the randomly spawned relic, to the left of the Court of Oryx, and carry it back to the marker in the center of the court where you normally deposit runes. The catch is, two "taken" doors will appear, as well as some Taken Phalanxes. Guardian 3, take the enemies out, and shoot the doors till they disappear. Shotguns and Snipers work great. Then escort Guardian 4 to the center.
Hello Team 3, your job is the same as team two, except on the right of the Court. Head out the doorway to the right where you spawn in. Guardian 5, you are a bodyguard for Guardian 6. You will be escorting, and opening doors for them as well. Guardian 6, you have one job. Locate the randomly spawned relic and carry it back to the marker in the center of the court where you normally deposit runes. The catch is, two "taken" doors will appear, as well as some Taken Phalanxes. Guardian 5, take the enemies out, and shoot the doors till they disappear. Shotguns and Snipers work great. Then escort Guardian 6 to the delivery area.
A big thing to keep in mind here for runners is to not get antsy. Four and Six should be communicating to the other whenever they both locate their Relic. If Four grabs his and Six hasn't located theirs, then they'll have to find it while avoiding adds. Also, a timer starts when the Relic is grabbed, so if one runner delivers early and the other is having trouble, you run the risk of not delivering in time and getting pushed back a tier. Once delivery happens, get back into positions to rinse and repeat a few times.
When you're finished, the portal in the Court of Oryx will activate, and this section of the raid is done. Overall, this should be a pretty easy battle. Stick to your jobs, communicate, and this should be a breeze. If you want more info on your specific roles, head on over to DestinyDB.com.
