New Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris Details Revealed

Bungie’s first livestream covered some of the expansion’s new elements.

Ahead of the December 5 launch of Destiny 2’s first major expansion, Curse of Osiris, Bungie is hosting a number of developer streams during which it is revealing new details about what the expansion contains. For the first livestream, Bungie focused on the expansion’s new story elements and Mercury setting while also teasing some of the new activities players will be able to partake in.

Here’s a recap of the livestream in case you missed it during its live broadcast:

  • The expansion will focus on the enigmatic Warlock Osiris (who is voiced by The Mummy actor Oded Fehr) and his female Ghost Sagira (voiced by Firefly and Gotham actress Morena Baccarin) as they battle a new Vex threat on Mercury.
  • Players will venture to Mercury as well and will get to visit the iconic Lighthouse from the original Destiny, no flawless Trials run required.
  • The Lighthouse will function as a new hub area, but not as a new social space.
  • Brother Vance will return and function as Mercury’s planetary vendor, awarding engrams for tokens that are earned from Mercury activities.
  • Players will be able to complete new endgame quests once they’ve beaten Curse of Osiris’s new story campaign to unlock powerful new weapons with unique designs.
  • Mercury will include a new public space complete with new Lost Sectors, Adventures, and Public Events, including a brand new Public Event type.
  • There will also be new strikes to venture into as well as the highly anticipated return of the heroic strike playlist.
  • Curse of Osiris will also mark the debut of the new raid lair feature, with raid lairs functioning as slightly shorter (yet no less challenging) raid tier experiences.
  • The first raid lair will be set in the same area as the standard Leviathan raid but will involve exploring a different part of Calus’s ship and fighting new bosses.
  • Both the Leviathan raid and the first raid lair will be set at 300 power level difficulty once Curse of Osiris is live.

You can watch a VOD of the full livestream below. Two more livestreams will be held before Curse of Osiris’s release, with the first coming tomorrow, November 21, and the second coming next week on November 29.
