During the recent Paris Games Week PlayStation game showcase, Activision and Bungie unveiled Curse of Osiris, the first major expansion that will be coming to Destiny 2.
Set to release on December 5, Curse of Osiris features the debut of the titular Osiris, a powerful Warlock who, up to this point, has only existed in the Destiny universe as a character who was mentioned but never seen. Players will venture to the planet Mercury to assist Osiris in battling an ancient Vex threat as part of the expansion’s new story campaign, and Mercury’s iconic Lighthouse (a location which Destiny 1 players only ever saw if they managed to go flawless in the hardcore PvP mode Trials of Osiris) will function as a new social space in the expansion as well.
Curse of Osiris will naturally also contain other features and enhancements, including a raise in both the player level cap (from 20 to 25) and the maximum Power Level (from 300 to 330), new missions to complete, new strikes, equipment, free roam activities, and even a new raid. Thanks to Activision’s exclusivity deal with Sony, PlayStation 4 players will also be granted early access to a new Crucible PvP map.
