Today is Halloween, and if you head into Destiny 2 right now, you might notice something’s missing, i.e. the Halloween-themed Festival of the Lost which was brought to the original Destiny several times over the course of its lifespan. Sadly, Bungie has confirmed that Destiny 2 won’t be getting its own Festival of the Lost this year, but that doesn’t mean the event will never return.
More specifically, the confirmation of no Festival of the Lost came from Bungie’s community manager David “Deej” Dague who recently broke the sad news to a fan via Twitter. Dague also said in his response that the Festival of the Lost could return in the future, but for 2017, the first holiday-themed event that will come to Destiny 2 is The Dawning winter event.
It makes sense that the Festival of the Lost wouldn’t make it into Destiny 2’s debut year since Bungie is likely still focused on ensuring the game doesn’t have any glaring launch issues (especially for the recently launched PC version) and that its servers are stable. Still, here’s hoping the studio has something planned for next Halloween.
