We’re still several months away from the launch of Destiny 2, but that hasn’t stopped analysts from making some bold predictions about how well the game will sell, especially on digital platforms.
According to this recent SuperData report, financial forecasters predict that Destiny 2 will sell roughly 4-5 million digital copies within the first three months of its launch. The reasoning behind such impressive figures is due to several different factors, including the following:
• The original Destiny is well-known in the gaming community after having been around for the past several years
• Destiny 2 is being published by Activision, one of the biggest companies in the industry
• Destiny 2 will have a PC version, and moreover, that PC version will be distributed by yet another giant household name, Blizzard, resulting in what analysts are calling the “Blizzard bump”
With all of the above in mind, it’s hard to argue with the three-month sales forecast that analysts are predicting. Destiny 2 will officially launch for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 6 and for PC (exclusively through Blizzard’s Battle.net platform) on October 24.
