Bungie has announced the return of Destiny’s Iron Banner PvP event, the recurring event where players climb the ranks, all while earning unique armor and weapons for their efforts. However, for the first time ever, this Iron Banner will feature the Mayhem Clash game mode, ensuring that the usual Iron Banner progression climb will be a bit more interesting this time around.
For those unfamiliar with this particular mode, Mayhem Clash is essentially a modified version of the standard Clash PvP mode in which all player abilities (grenades, melee attacks, and supers) recharge at a quicker rate. Additionally, the rate Special and Heavy Ammo Crates spawn is increased, and the amount of points players earn is multiplied as well, leading to quicker, more chaotic matches overall.
During this week’s Iron Banner event, players will be able to earn special Pulse Rifle and Machine Gun variants, as well as class-specific armor sets that boast an Iron Banner theme. This week’s Iron Banner will begin tomorrow, May 9th, at 10 a.m. PST (1 p.m. EST), and will end the following week on May 16th.
