We already know from last week’s reveal trailer that Destiny 2 will see the return of the Vanguard trio Commander Zavala, Ikora Rey, and Cayde-6. However, if a very plausible fan theory is to be believed, the sequel’s first two expansions might introduce even more familiar faces.
Fans were quick to notice that the image for Destiny 2’s expansion pass (which you can see courtesy of the game’s pre-order page includes two different symbol-adorned flags. In case you’re not up to date on your Destiny lore, the two symbols also happen to be associated with two different Destiny characters: the Warlock Osiris (after whom the Trials of Osiris PvP mode is named) and the
Over the course of the original Destiny storyline, players never actually got to meet either Rasputin or Osiris, they merely heard about them through various third parties. Getting to meet these two legendary Destiny figures would certainly be a great motivator for fans of the game’s lore to purchase and play through the expansions.
Sadly, we probably won’t learn more concrete details about the expansions until after Destiny 2’s September 8th launch.
